What is Hippo?
Hippo is the diminutive of “Hippopotamus” in English and represents our innovative reactor system designed to reduce waste, produce biochar, and generate syngas. Inspired by the hippo’s ability to multitask, Hippo combines efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.
The Hippo company operates through two main pillars:
Echo-Parques: Facilities designed to “consume” waste, generate biochar, and produce renewable gases simultaneously, ensuring an efficient and continuous process for waste transformation and carbon capture.
HIPPO GFS Technology (Green Flash System): A patented design developed in Chile by local professionals, based on the thermolysis principle, which enables the carbonization of waste.
Modularity: The technological design guarantees scalability and adaptability for different applications.
Together, Hippo has the capacity to process:

- Organic residues from the agroindustry.
- Municipal solid waste, helping to extend the lifespan of landfills.
